Kevin Monk-6th-8th Bible & History

Hello!  My name is Kevin Monk.  I am excited about coming onboard and working with Middle School students and families at Arrows in two of my favorite subject areas: Bible and History! My wife and I have been homeschooling our children through various methods since 2012, and are both experienced teachers.  We currently have two high-schoolers, a middle schooler and one still in Elementary grades in our home and LOVE the extra time homeschooling gives us as a family. For the past five years I have been teaching Music with Logos Public Charter School and Ruch Outdoor Community School, the very grade school I attended growing up.  Prior to that, I taught History, English and Bible to middle school and high school students at Christian schools from 2002 to 2015, while taking a few years off as we added children to our growing family.  My wife and I have been married for over 22 years after growing up in the Rogue Valley, moving back here to stay in 2015.  I am also the Children/Youth and Music Director at Ruch Community Bible Church, where I lead worship Sunday mornings and help teach kids about Jesus.  I am passionate about sharing the Gospel and the truth of the Bible (especially in the historical and archaeological realms), spending time with my family, reading and collecting books, writing and creating artwork in the Science Fiction genre, hiking and riding horses, playing basketball, teaching martial arts, and especially working with kids and youth!  I am looking forward to being a part of Arrows!

Julie Delack-6th-8th Science and Lang. Arts

Hi friends! I'm Julie DeLack, this is my third year teaching with Arrows.  I am a wife to Jeremy for 13 years together we have three great kiddos who attend Arrows, Amelia (8th grade), Logan (6th grade), and Caleb (1st grade). This will be our fourth year of homeschooling and are so blessed to be a part of the Arrows community! We live up in the mountains of Prospect and enjoy all the rural life has to offer. We spend much of our free time as a family hiking, fishing, and exploring God's amazing creation. I have had the privilege to serve in many different capacities in children’s ministries. Over the years I have taught Pre-K and Kindergarten Sunday School classes as well as helped with an afterschool program for the local kids to learn the good news of Jesus. I helped organize and start a children’s ministry for a small congregation in the area as well as helped kick start their VBS program. I am very much looking forward to walking alongside and encouraging our first-grade families this year through all that the Lord has for us!

Janelle Ralph-5th

Hello Everyone! I was born and raised here in the Rogue Valley, and then headed to Newberg to attend George Fox University. I started off with a double major in Foods and Nutrition in Business and Fitness Management before changing over to Elementary Education. I love teaching and I love fitness and nutrition! After graduating with a BS in Elementary Education and as a four-year Cross-Country and Track athlete, I went on to teach English at a University in China for a year and a half. Once I returned to the US, I began substitute teaching K-12 any subject, got married to a wonderful man, and earned my Masters of Education at SOU. I have continued to substitute teach for the past 16 years, with one year of full time teaching mixed in, and was fortunate to be able to work with a homeschool co-op in 2020 and substitute a little at Arrows last year. In 2018 we were blessed with my wonderful daughter, and she will start Pre-K at Arrows this year. We were blessed to have our precious son join us in June of 2023 as well. Outside of teaching, I love running, hiking, traveling, camping, cooking, and being with family and friends. My husband and I have run half marathons in all 50 states (and 5 countries), and I have been to 15 countries. I am also involved in the Christian Education committee and the ladies missions group at Medford Friends Church, where I have attended since I was a baby. I love being active, and it is my hope to be able to share some of my enthusiasm for fitness with the wonderful students at Arrows!

Jennifer Shields-4th Grade

Nichole Baird-4th Grade

Hi! My name is Nichole Baird and I feel so blessed to partner with you in homeschooling your 4th grader! My husband, Adam, and I have been married for 19 years and relocated our family from Lake Havasu City, Arizona to the Rogue Valley at the end of 2015. We have three boys – Micah-17, Seth-15, and Eli-12. I have homeschooled them all from the beginning in 2012 and we had our first graduate this past school year! I was homeschooled myself from 7th grade through high school and then graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA. Growing up, I was always very involved in church – starting as a teenager serving in the children’s ministry, cleaning ministry, sound ministry, etc. I was our church secretary for about 12 years before we moved to Oregon. We love our church home at Heritage Christian Fellowship, where I currently serve in the women's and children’s ministries. We started attending Arrows Co-op in 2016 and I taught the co-op Pre-K class during the five years we were involved.  This will be my sixth year teaching at Arrows Academy.  In previous years, I taught PreK, 3rd grade and 4th grade. I look forward to teaching your kids 2 days a week to be bright, kind, and loving children.
